Bourbon County Fair Beef Show

Showtimes:

Market Animal Weigh-in: 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Show starts at 5:00 pm

Show Order: Showmanship (oldest to youngest), Market Animal Show, Bourbon County Market Animal Show, Breeding Female Show, and Bull Show

Rules:

-All animals must be weighed and registered by 4:30 pm on day of the show.

-Health requirements abide by state regulations.

-4-H & FFA members are eligible to compete in the open show.

-All breeding stock must be registered by May 30th of the current year, in the name of the exhibitor.

-Registration papers will be checked at time of check in.

-Anyone entering the grounds will be expected to pay $5 admission at the main gate or at check in.

-Any breed with 5 or more head will have their own breed, if there are not 5 head for a breed you will show in AOB or % AOB classes

Market Animal Show:

Premiums: $20, $15, $10, $5, $5

All market animals will be broke into classes by weight then into divisions depending on number of entries.

Light, Medium, and Heavy Weight Division winners will be awarded rosettes.

All steers and market heifers must be Kentucky Uniform Identification Program (KUIP) tagged, or out of state cattle must have EID tag in.

At time of weigh in, exhibitor must declare if heifer will be showed as market or breeding animal only can be shown as one or the other, not both.

Grand Champion Bourbon County Market Animal - Award & $100 (only for Bourbon County youth exhibitors)

Reserve Champion Bourbon County Market Animal - Award & $50 (only for Bourbon County youth exhibitors)

Grand Champion Open Market Animal - Award & $75

Reserve Champion Open Market Animal - Award & $50

Feeder Calf Show:

For feeder heifers or steer calves - calves must be weighed in on scales.

Steer or heifer born after January 1, 2023.

Steer or heifer weighing 300lbs-600lbs.

Grand and Reserve Feeder Calf Champions will be picked.

Grand Champion Feeder Calf - $20

Reserve Champion Feeder Calf - $10

Female & Bull Class Division:

Breed Divisions Offered: Angus, AOB, % AOB, Charolais, Chianina, Commercial, Hereford, Maine Anjou, Simmental, % Simmental, Shorthorn, Shorthorn Plus, any other breed must have 5 head present for a breed.

Breeding females can only be shown in their respective breed, no changing allowed.

An Award will be presented to each Bourbon County Grand Champion heifer in each breed.

Premiums: $20, $15, $10, $5, $5

Junior Heifer Calf: Calved January 1 to April 30, 2022

Senior Heifer Calf: Calved September 1 to December 31, 2021

Summer Yearling Heifers: Calved May 1 to August 31, 2021

Junior Yearling Heifers: Calved January 1 to April 30, 2021

Senior Yearling Heifers: Calved September 1 to December 31, 2020

Supreme Champion Female - $75 & Award, Reserve Champion Female - $50 & Award

Supreme Champion Bull - $40 & Award, Reserve Champion Bull - $20 & Award

Cow & Calf Class - Youth & Open Show:

Premiums: $20, $15, $10, $5, $5

Any age producing cow with 2024 calf at side.

Will have champions in each breed and have a Grand & Reserve Supreme Champion.

Supreme Cow/Calf will receive $20 & Award, Reserve Supreme Cow/Calf will receive $10 & Award

Showmanship:

Age Classes: (Age as of January 1 of current year) Premiums for Showmanship: $20, $15, $12

Novice: under 9

Clover: 9 to 11

Junior: 12 to 13

Intermediate: 14 to 16

Senior: 17 and above

Old Geezer: 21 & Up - No pay, only awards
